Guidelines

Criteria

We're looking for employees who pull on their workwear every day, and go above and beyond to serve their city, town, county, or neighborhood, and who have:

  • Consistently demonstrated dedication to their fellow citizens, guests, tourists, and fellow workers, or
  • Provided leadership, sometimes overcoming obstacles to create the best possible outcome and experience within their area of responsibility, or
  • Displayed commitment to preservation and protection of their city, town, county, school, or neighborhood by smart thinking and intentional action, or
  • Served their coworkers and the community in a manner that makes their world a better place to live, work, and play.
  • Nominees must be actively serving as an employee of a government agency (non-Federal) in the United States to be eligible to win. Nominees may work in, but are not limited to the following areas of government service:
    • Administration
    • Facility Management
    • Fire & EMS/Rescue
    • Housing Authorities
    • Law Enforcement
    • Parks & Recreation
    • Public Services
    • Public Utilities
    • Public Works
    • School Districts
    • Transportation
    • Water/ Wastewater Management


Selection

  • Using the criteria outlined above, ServiceWear Apparel will select a group of finalists.
  • Public online voting on the finalists takes place from July 13, 2017 to August 4, 2017.
  • Anyone is invited to vote, once per day, for any one of the finalists.


Prizes

  • The winner of the Workwear MVP Award will receive a $1,000 grand prize and $1,000 worth of workwear for his or her agency.
  • The nominator with the winning submission will receive a Red Kap Soft Shell jacket.
  • In the event the winner cannot accept prizes; the award can be donated to his or her agency or the charity of the winner’s choice.

The participant(s) hereby waives and releases all rights to pursue any legal action against ServiceWear Apparel (SWA) or its parent company, SMS Holdings Corp., for any reason related in whole or in part of such contest. It is further understood by participant(s) that SWA, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates, will not be held liable or responsible for any claims or damages arising from or relating to the contest including, but not limited to the following:

  • Entries and participation, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prizes;
  • Entries that do not follow guidelines;
  • Entries that are incomplete, late, lost, misdelivered or undeliverable
